'Shame on you' over Waspi women

The government has been accused of failing to do more to help the 2.6 million so-called Waspi women born in the 1950s who have lost out because of changes to pension law.

During a debate in Parliament, Conservative minister Guy Opperman was heckled by opposition MPs for suggesting women over 60 facing financial hardship could start an apprenticeship.

Several shouted “shame on you” as he spoke about the opportunities available for people looking to work in their later years.
